Sometimes my mic doesn't work

I don't know why. It works in every other game and every other application. It used to always work in NS2 but as of the past few days it doesn't work. People see my mic icon and name, but hear nothing. Explanation?

I thought I would add to this by saying that in fact if I restart my PC it sometimes works again. No idea what causes this.

While in game, try unplugging your mic and replugging it back in. It seems there may be an issues with the game detecting certain mics or being able to detect others sometimes. Performing this operation may give the game the chance to re-detect your mic.

Try simply opening the Sound menu at the start of each game, that should fix it for now.
