Just here announcing my new Mod and hoping for some ideas to take it further.

My Stats is a new beta stat program that is single server based.

My based beta website is up here : http://theinsaneasylum.us/Home/

MyStats is a add on mod that allows players to login and earn coins for playing. Over time, your coins can buy you things in-game. Currently, they only allow for non-gameplay changing effects. As such, you can buy a badge, buy reserve slot or even change models of your character to stand out. Along with that comes local round stats. A lot is in-beta but if anyone has any ideas for anything future, or wants to stop by the please look for "The Insane Asylum" #1" server.

Hope to see you in-game, could use some beta testers!

So I had a few games played, but I found that filling a 'modded' server is very hard. I could not get above 6 when I could easily fill a non-modded server. Why is this? Is there something I should put in the server name to not scare people?

    Telling people the server name?
Having serveral on different timezones, etc?
Have a link/ description in your post at least, I have no idea what your mod does really, or what servers to find.

I think what I am asking is why modded servers are look so down upon? Are they off for new players? My mod makes no changes to gameplay. It simply tracks your in-game stats and awards you a coin for doing some tasks. You can then use those coins to buy a reserve slot, a title, a badge, or even a new skin. But when I had an un-modded server, I filled it within 20 minutes. I can spend 3 hours in-game and get maybe 2 people. Why such a change in player action? Is there a way to white list my mod so it does not appear as a "mod" since it does nothing to effect gameplay?

I think by default modded servers are filtered out. With that said you can always message of the day on the unmodded server that points them towards the much cooler stats enabled other server.

Also, good work, I like the premise of your mod.

Maybe you can add Colored nicknames? i realy like your mod. You could change Coins for experience[EXP] or points? i wish some one would code Spray logos like in ns1 it would be great to buy them in the store.

Correct, I was thinking when pressing tab you can change your color of name, plus maybe in-game above your head, or even when you chat its a different color.

Maybe coins isn't the best, but I want people to know they not round based, but server based. So it stay until you use them. I got a full game last night, which was great!

I found that I have to find a way to display more information to users as they have no idea what the coins are for.

With the decal system coming I'm sure you could whip up a spray system, but custom content would be readily available through an image search. so unlocking them might not be worthwhile.

Look over ns2stats mod. Typing 'check' in console brings up a statistics page via the steam browser for the active game. You could incorporate something like that to show your currency, transaction history, and the store.
