Max mic gain does almost nothing [Solved]

I have a Logitech G930 USB headset which I use for gaming. Recently, when I voice chat in-game, other players hear almost nothing (they can barely hear if I speak very loudly).

This occurs even after I set the in-game mic volume to max. However, outside of NS2, the mic works loud and clear. I have verified that the Windows mic gain is set to 100%. I have also rebooted to make sure everything is ok. NS2 did not used to do this.

-- It turns out that NS2 changed my mic input device to my PC built-in mic without asking me. I assume this is when I had my headset unplugged. However, I would have expected this to go back to my headset mic when I plugged it back in.

Yeah, if you loadup NS2 before plugging in your headset, NS2 will reset everything to the default windows sound devices. Its usually noticeable, as there will be no sound coming from your headset.
