Download Koruyo's map here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=128659455

Get from one end of the map to the other from a standing start and reach the fastest speed as a non-upgraded skulk.

Instructions:
Enable the mod.
In console: map ns2_100m
cheats 1
debugspeed

Here's my attempt:

It's a skulk practice map. Goal is to try and sustain top speed as long as you can.

Edit: I am fairly positive Koruyo did not create this map to have people compete on it...

this is a rather lame approach to be honest. There should be a stopwatch that times how long it takes to get from 1 end to other. As it stands now, the fastest way to reach top speed is by not going across the corridor as fast as possible. Also, there is no way to stop someone from upgrading and evolving Celerity.

Good practice in a completely unrealistic and unusable scenario... Makes complete sense.

The only competition in this is who can spam space the fastest...

Except Koruyo made it for comparing movement speeds between NS1 and NS2.

Well, learning in unrealistic situations can be beneficial to start with. I don't even know how wall jumping works and I have 800 hours played, so maybe this would be a good place to start.

If walljumping interested me that is.

Why are people taking this so seriously?

    You just ruined NS2 OP!

    Just wow.

I was welling to give you the benefit of the doubt about being a decent player who couldn't compete because of his location.

    Spoken like a true pub-star.

Compare the movement in a real map then, this is like the best possible case for NS2 wallhop so its not in any way comparable to what you would see in a real map. The only reason you would move faster here is because NS2 has no speedcap (besides a hard cap of like 40), where NS1 was capped.

I choose to think that this game isn't entirely based on who can repeat an easy to learn sequence of space bar presses, so I prefer to run around sneakily and smartly.

I mean, I may be completely wrong, but I'm keeping the dream alive.

If you think wall-jumping is about spamming spacebar the fastest then you have never tried to do it. There are plenty of places in normal ns2 maps to do short runs (2-3 jumps) in this manner, and lots of places to sustain the speed for a short while afterward.

True, but its a good way to learn an unfamiliar mechanic. Of course, this map isn't really designed for that so I'm not sure why people are trying to use it that way. Instead, we probably need something like an updated version of Skie's ns2_skulkjump.
