Since the Gorge update precaching takes forever
By forever I mean on the order of 5-10 minutes. I think the last time I experienced a load time this long I was using a tape loader on a C64.
Is there anything I can do to provide statistics here? Any console commands? I can't see any other topics about this, but I've seen other people on other forums mention it.
I've attached my log file, but it doesn't seem to contain anything of any interest to anyone. Is there a command I should run to enable more verbose logging?
Thanks

Yes, that takes some time.
After that it's OK, especially if you installed NS2 on a SSD.
The second one will indeed take a long time (5-10 minutes), depending on your PC specs. And will only happen for the first time you start NS2 after an update or a reinstall. After that's been done once, it should be all be fine and dandy one more...
If you have textures on max, then it will for a hd reolution load up well over a GB of texture data before the map starts. (you can see with r_stats 1)
After the gorgeous patch, it loads less then a GB of textures, and it also hops into the level a bit sooner then before it is done.
Not sure if it is ment to, but that what happens when I check the counter now.
