Attempting to connect issues. Netgear N300

Hello, I've been having issues out of no where with connecting to servers. I played earlier today for 2-3 hours and had 0 problems going in between servers and playing games. Then my internet went out (its a common issue with my supplier) and now I can't seem to join any servers. Now when I connect directly to my modem I have no issues playing games or anything, it seems like the problem is directly related to my router. I've been searching for over an hour for a fix but everything I have tried does not help. Please help me, I love the game and I can't simply use the modem to play the game as I have other people living in the house and it would be unfair to them.

Are you saying if you connect via a LAN cable you can play fine, but not wireless? I'll assume you have power cycled the device, so have you tried doing a factory reset? Yeah it's a pain but as long as you write down your settings it shouldn't take too long to reconfigure.

Also helps telling us which router you have. As detailed as possible please.

Nothing is wireless, its all hardlined. I have the router as well as the modem in my room, as I manage both for my room-mates, basically the router causes problems for natural selection (NetgearN300) where if I remove my hardline from the router to my pc and only hardline to my modem nothing happens. TLDR everything runs perfect when directly connected to my modem, but not when I'm directly connected to my router.

Does this connection issue only occur in NS2?

    If no:
Does it occur in other Steam Games?
Does it occur in Non-Steam Games
Does it occur in other programs requiring a net connection?

Have you tried powering everything down then rebooting starting with your modem followed by the router and finally your computer?

Yeah I have tried all the reboot options, and no it does not happen in any other games steam included. It has only been a problem with NS2.

This is a long shot, but make sure that the router firewall is not blocking NS2, and look into opening the following ports in your router:

    TCP Ports = 27000 and 27100
    UDP Ports = 1200 and 27000-27100
