Alien Vision Gorgeous Issue

Right after the Gorgeous update my alien vision broke. Marines no longer show up in orange, they are the same green color as everything else.

I thought it was the minimal alien mod I had downloaded at some point, but removing it did nothing. I uninstalled NS2 and steam, then did a fresh install of both. The problem still persisted. I updated my video card drivers and the problem still persists.

A tangential problem is now the fact that upon a fresh install I can no longer join a server I've been playing on for months, as when trying to connect I get stuck on downloading a mod. It's "ns2_icarus beta". I've subscribed to it in the workshop. I've restarted in the mod interface, with it both active and not, while also subscribed and not. Non of these combinations allow ns2_icarus beta to move beyond 0% downloading.

I have attached the dxdiag from before updating my video card drivers, and after.

Suggestions?

Can you run the TechSupport.exe tool in the NS2 directory and send me the results at max@unknownworlds.com?

Maybe the mod files aren't deleted from your steam apps folder while uninstalling NS2?
Try to make sure, the NS2 folder is empty after you uninstalled it.

I have the same problem (thread: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/128683/alien-flashlight-broken-build-240 ). Spoken to several others in-game as well with the same issue.

Seems to be a common bug with the new gorgeus update.

Personally, after running techsupport.exe and mailing it to max, i would try deleting your "workshop" folder in your hidden " %appdata%\natural selection 2\" folder, only AFTER you have unsubscribed from all mods through the in game menu.

This should remove any odd mod issues, and allow you to rule out mods as the cause, since this reported issue is somewhat infrequent , comparatively.

Mods are definitely the cause of this issue, I unsubscribed from all mods and set all of them to inactive in the game menu and the alien vision reverted back to normal. I have deleted the workshop folder and am going through the process of installing essential mods again to see if I can pinpoint the problem mod.

I got it down to Commander A'Cyst and a crosshair mod. Hm.

Thanks! This fixed the issue :-)
