Voice Comms Bug

There's been a bug since pre-gorgeous build, whereby in-game voice comms doesnt transmit any sound (name shows up on the right when taliking however) until you go into sound options and press apply.
I know a few people who are getting this, its extremely annoying as I can be trying to coordinate with a team and then find out minutes later that my mic isnt making any sound

Any ideas?

Fuck! I read that now after I've ordered a new headset last night.
I was thinking that I had somehow destroyed my microphone cable.

The worst thing is that nobody tells you and you just keep wondering why nobody reacts when you say something.

I have a pretty standard Realtek ALC HD Audio chip on my motherboard.
It's pretty common and millions of people use these.

Maybe it has something to do with the recent Windows 7 SP1 platform update?
At least you described a workaround.

i have the same problem (not using onboard sound). im usuallly playing with friends who tell me on ts that the mic is not working but yes its very annoying
