Steam saying that I need to purchase the game

Today Steam started saying that I need to purchase the game to play it, even though i have bought it like 5 months ago and already played 106 hours. Sorry if I am wrong here and should post on Steam support, I just want to make sure that it isn't problem with game.

I also know about the Steam key discount, but i didn't pay with credit card.

Sorry to hear about this. As others have mentioned, it sounds like you got an illegitimate key. Did you buy the game directly from Steam?

After almost 2 weeks, the shop sent me a new copy of the game. It also claimed that it buys the keys directly from Steam and that the article about “Shady Sellers“ isn't their case and has nothing to do with them. They sent me the game in a form of gift


I hope there isn't any problem about this.

Also sorry for my bad english.

I personally do not trust anything which isnt a official reseller.
I would ask someone from uwe about it.. but I would still feel... unsure

This time though it wasn't a key but a gift that was buyed from steam so I don't see any problem with this.

No one had problem with them, plus I already bought a game there before and it was OK.

Regardless if you never have had a problem with them before, if they are not a listed reseller by Steam or UWE, then I wouldn't trust them. I think your safest move at this point is to double check with UWE that your copy is indeed legit, and in the future only go with trusted resellers. With the amount of scams going on these days, it's always better to be safe knowing that what you bought is the real deal.

Thats the problem mate..
If they buy a copy on steam with for example stolen money, the copy on steam is not legit. THOSE keys got banned, hence our distrust
