Alt tab = terrible performance in 241

After returning from alt tab I'm now running at about half fps. This is new since today (241)


edit: Doesn't seem to happen every time. Can't repro sometimes.

Problems with alt-tab are known, crashes and performance-wise, and are currently being worked on. I would prefer you run in windowed mode as it's a lot easier to switch in and out of the game.

Or have another computer running Synergy. NS2 in full screen and you can "alt tab" whenever you want

sometimes when you alttab out, and then back in, NS2 doesnt get the full CPU power.

Basicly:
* run ns2 > cpu is massively working
* tab out > cpu gets a easy moment, clocks down, etc etc
* tab back to ns2 > it should go back to max power, sometimes it does not.

Windowed mode, inf my experience, reduces the problem. I had it once. A reconnect or NS2 restart fixed it, Im not sure.

I could be wrong, but I thought that after an alt tab, the graphics card doesnt come out of power saving mode and/or back into crossfire/SLI.....

Also running in Windowed mode doesnt kick in Crossfire if you have dual ATI's
