I can't seem to get my skins to work on steamworkshop

I made a simple pink skin to test it out so that I could test to see if i could properly publish skins on steam workshop. It seems like I can't. I'm not sure what is going I read a tutorial on how to publish skins to the workshop but it doesn't seem to work. I tested the mods directly in my game directly and they worked correctly but when I tried installing it through steam works it didnt.

I first created the mod


My mod directory looks like:
Pink Aliens\ns2\models\alien\[alien name]\[alien name].dds

Then I published the mod
