Just as the title says, I bought this game yesterday but can't seem to play it as whenever I launch the game it will subsequently force restart my computer. There have been other forum posts regarding this issue but no solution has been found as of yet, just posting so hopefully someone has some idea as to what is causing this.
I have updated all of my drivers and it is not a power supply problem.
I can run many other games as extreme settings without a hitch, such as Chivalry, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, etc.
Will be checking back frequently to answer any inquiries.

While NS2 can not directly cause a bluescreen, it may or may not push a driver in a way it should not. (asumption!)
So what is directly causing your bluescreen? Lets find out.
In c:\windows OR c:\windows\minidump are dmp files. C:\windows has a memory.dmp file. Minidump has a <date>.dmp file or more.
Upload these. If they are to big to upload to the forum, and they most likely are, use something like skydrive, weshare, dropbox or similar to upload.
Post the link, PM the link, or if you want to keep it within people linked to uwe a bit, spam Ironhorse instead. (I always make you lot spam him. mhuahaha)
a dmp file has, in most cases, the most likely cause for a crash, logged.
depending on the time I will do it today or try tomorrow. (asuming no weird IRL shit)
Netio.sys however is a windows file. So it can not be the main reason, its just that the analyser in the debugger cant find the one behind it. (and then neither can I from a dump file hehe)
* start with your network drivers. Completely do a clean install of them
* Any firewall or antivirus not part of windows.. completely remove & reinstall. perhaps try another.
* check network cables & connections for damages.
* check the network card for damage. (may not to test with a replacement)
* other things with network.
Happy hunting. hehe
So this a 5 month old computer, so I really doubt either the connections/cables or network card are damaged.
And I have already reinstalled my drivers earlier today.
I'm currently using Avast Antivirus so i'll go about reinstalling it, but I really don't understand how that would affect the game crashing my computer. Maybe it will help if I give a little more info on what exactly happens before the crash.
Apparently there is a intro video to the game, I wouldn't know since it just shows a black screen for a minute before it loads the main menu. Once at the main menu it will immediately shut down my computer.
My computer takes about 5 seconds before it powers back on, that's when the fans go on 'overdrive' for a second before returning to normal.
I thought I attached the dxdiag to the original post but apparently I didn't, so I'll do that first thing when I get back home later tonight.
I suggest you Download Prime95, mersenne.org/freesoft/ and run it for 4 hours in CPU Intense mode and see if your PC resets. If it does, you have a cooling issue. If it does not, it's something else.
Also Download HWMonitor here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html - to watch your temperatures. If your CPU goes above 70oC that's really a bad thing.
Since it is a windows dll which crashes, and windows doesn't ship crashed, it must be something driver or hardware related. Heat is hardware.
AV runs in kernel mode. A BSOD is basicly a kernel panic. So a AV can infact cause a bsod.
Also security suites (with firewall for example) of then hook themselves into the network hardware.
