Losing steam overlay

First time I load the game when I start my computer it works fine. After that my steam overlay is missing (sometimes). if I close it again and open it, it works. Run NS2 again, and it's missing. No idea if it's true only for NS2 or not (in the past it certainly wasn't) I've heard about permissions but steam is running as admin.
