Preamble
I have collected a few suggestions that have been bouncing around in my head for some time now and i wanted to share them with the community to see if any of them are practical and/or useful. Disclaimer: I know that many of them do have balance issues but they are just suggestions.
Deposits
Nw this is one of those things that i said would be over powered but just bare with me for a second. Now, when you play as commander dont you just hate it when your low on resources and some guy speaks into chat "WHAT ARE YOU DOING COM!!! WE HAVE 50 RESOURCES! USE EM" but in reality its HIS resources? You on the other hand only have 3? This has happened to me many times and it ge annoying. Well, these deposits would be on both sides. The Aliens will be able to use them after they have their second hive -or- after they get gorge tunnels (for balance issues). Marines will be able to get them after they get their second chair (for balance issues).
You would have to place these "Deposits" down near the hive/chair in order for them to work. Players would be able to deposit either 3-5 of their own resources into the teams resources if the team was in trouble but there would be a massive cooldown time (yet again, balance issues). The marines "Deposit" sould look something like a ATM and the Aliens like a bowl with "roots" like gorge tunnels or shifts with teeth surounding the opening at top.
Marine Feasting
When you are attacking a base, you will get beat up ever once and a while and will unfourtunately end up in a corner some place to heal as an alien. This is extremely frustrating especially when you are needed to destroy a base. This new evolution would help that! It will either be a new upgrade (for crag hive) or a evolution just for skulks (balance issues). Marines' corpses will remain in the game for just a little longer so that you, the alien, can go down and eat to regain health. It will only regenerate health, not armor (balance issues) for obvious reasons. Gorges though will have to send their babblers to eat and then bring the nutrients back.
Alien Research
Now, this is one of the more sketchy ones but i have the basic idea down. (this upgrade is intended for stalemates) After you obtain your third chair and protolab, you will be able to reasearch a building called the "Test Tube"
What it would look like but much smaller: http://media.indiedb.com/images/articles/1/120/119032/auto/BiodomeConcept_600x360.jpg (this is not my photo)
LIke the marines, alien corpses will remain active for a little bit longer which will allow Marines to drag -or- carry alien corpses to the "Test Tube". Once inside, the building will run through a process and will have a prgress bar much like all of the other buildings. Once done, all of the marines will obtain a slight boost agianst the type of alien you put inside of the building. This will surely end stalemates with some fun!
Well, if you actually read all of this, first of all, congrats, second- I will be updating this post frequently, adding new suggestions and things. If you have any questions dont be afraid to ask!
