Just a heads up that the Archaea vs. Godar match today will be coming to you live on Twitch.tv/sting_reddog @ 12:30pm PDT/9:30pm CEST. See you there! Will post again here when we go live.
Love the fact it's casted but why are both casters acting like Godar are pulling off some far out and away upset by taking rounds off Archaea? They've been taking rounds off them consistently for the last month Eiss has been uploading, seemed like the perfect chance to word up people about the emerging clans in ENSL and instead it was spent on "OGM GODAR OMG WOW OMG HISTORY OMG WOWWWWWWWWW THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE", it* has happened, been happening for the last month, some background would have been nice.
ah true, but there is a difference between a scrim and a league game. often in scrims we just like to try new stuff out, or focus on individual aspects of play as opposed to winning. we've taken some scrims off arc as well but it's very different when both teams are playing to win, and this is the first time arc's lost in a broadcasted / official game in a while, so it's still pretty exciting!
PCW's and scrims are one thing. Like Gliss says, that's where teams try out new tactics and stuff to see if they will work or are viable. I don't think Godar has taken rounds off Arc in an official game until now (I may be wrong, but I know they weren't in the same division in Season 1 and they lost both times - all rounds - when they met Arc in the Invitational cup).
So, as far as "This has never happened before" - we were kinda right. Godar is a stronger and stronger team each time we see them play; and quite frankly I was over the moon when I saw them finally win against Arc in an official/broadcasted matchup.
I do agree that maybe we should have given some background - as you suggested. Will try to next time!
The first two games of this matchup were some of the best I've ever seen. Godar could've taken the match if they hadn't rushed that second hive on descent. In the end a great effort, but there's only so much you can do against Archaea when they're hitting fades like they were in the third game

We didn't have blink, and instead of having all the fades at the same time, we kept popping one by one, having two at the same time at most, which is not as effective without blink. With our first fade gestating in Launch Control just as the marines (3 or 4, with shotguns) were going into the hive.
But yeah, that alien game on descent could have gone very differently if we had been a little more patient about the second hive. Although it is easier to see this from the spectator view.

Of course, I wasn't blaming you guys or trying to say you didn't play well. You played an amazing match. It was really great to watch, especially that siege on Elevator. I'm just starting to get into watching the NSL and I can't wait to watch more Godar matches!
Thanks for the casts - really great to watch these games! Both comms doing an amazing job (as always, for both of these teams), and some big surprises in the field.
Would have loved to hear what was said in the Arc camp between maps!!
(RedDog, not quite sure how you managed to fail to say "Mendasp" so spectacularly, but it was fun to watch )

Amazing games, well played both teams.
Entertaining games. Thanks RedDog and Blind.
The answer is yes. Do it.
