Can some1 plz tell me what the max players for standard ns maps r ?
Currently running with 18 players, some maps pings r 100-200 otherwise around 40-150 depending on clients connection.

server spec : Dual PIII 866 Xenon 2MB cache, 1GB ram, 15K rpm scsi drives raid 5

As for maxplayers, I enjoy playing 14-18 servers. If you knocked the max down to 16, it would be just fine for the gameplay, and your pings will probably be more stable. Try it and see. (of course, I'm not a server admin) 866mhz Xenon just seems a bit low for an 18 player server.
I dont want to decrease numbers i want to increase numbers. i run 32ppl cs server, and want to know if the standard maps can handle 32ppl.
Should have been clearer from the start <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
With maps, yes, NS can handle 32 players. Even if there aren't enough spawn points, (which I believe there are) people will start spawning one by one immediately following.
Why not just try and find YOUR server max yourself? Increment the player count by 2 until your pings dramatically increase when there are maxplayers. You'll never get to 32 players before that, though.
