Microphone Dont Work In Game

My microphone works fine in windows but when im playing NS, it dont work. I hold down the button and it doesnt record anything but not only that, it comes out reaaall choppy as if im constantly pressing on the button and releasing it as i record. Anyone else have this problem? Please help, thank you.

Either you have a low quality sound card, you need drivers for it, or if you have a 56k connection, it will do that.
