yes, yes, I know im a pain in the ***, always asking some stupid n00b questions but everyone has been a noob at something at theyar first time.

nr1. can you convert original hl maps into ns mapps?

nr2. the marine spawnpoint is in a dropship that they gotta get out off, right? so does it matter if they go down with a platform or sumthing or just out of a normal door?

nr3. where can I find a program to make my own wad files?

    1) Not that I know of, maybe someone that has more skill in mapping will tell you that it is possible to decompile the maps then recomiple them into ns.  I wonder if thats legal...

    2) I cant help ya there... sorry bud

Their are tools for decompiling BSPs.  However the results aren't that good, and their is that whole legality issue...

1st, yeah - if you got the uncompiled map files, all you should have to do is add the NS .fgd and toss in the whatever necessary entities.

As stated already, there are ways to decompile BSPs, but I do not recommend trying.

2nd - No, everybody spawns in a "Ready Room" area where they choose their team, then they spawn in whatever area is designated as that team's spawn. This is pretty much up to the designer to define.

All the info you need is in the Mapping Guidelines. I recommend reading up on it.

Yes, all players start in the readyroom, but there is also a marine spawn point too. (The readyroom is just an area you reside in BEFORE the team is chosen.)

A dropship isn't neccesarry, and in fact I would advise against such a thing as in the future there may be a global NS dropship model which can be used. Just so long as the marine start looks as though the marines have gotten into the area somehow, and not just magically appeared. In my map, the marines start off on a dropship landing pad, but there is no ship. However, it's pretty evident that they got there through the use of a dropship, even if you never actually see it.
