How would I replace map overviews?

I'd like to be able to make the overhead maps more transparent and upload them to the Steam Workshop. I am dumb and can't figure it out- tried to place an edited overview map into mapsrc/overviews, but testing didn't show the edited image in game.

If you should try placing the edited overview in output/maps/overviews since you don't need to use builder.
