MAC storage capability

I had the idea of Macs being able to act as a portable armory which could hold ammo and health (as well as being able to repair armor) for marines.  Comm could just drop ammo and healthpacks into the mac as he would a marine and send the mac off to battle with a group.  Thoughts?

Wouldn't it be more efficient if the Commander just drops health and ammo packs on the Marines? Or just drop an armory in the room?

If the mac AI was better... and if ammo + health packs were not instantly used up when someone fires a shot/ is spat at.
