Would a quantum computer be enough to run this game decently?

I'd rather stay at 1080p and drop to 60fps then maintain the 120fps I get during early/mid game tbh.

the answer to the OP is no. I strongly believe the devs have a secret agenda with the sole goal of challenging and defeating all past present and future progress in computing. godspeed uwe, godspeed.

    144 .. but in his comment it's
1024x768 everything off for max fps

    seems like cheating..

I've got everything off at 800x600, and average 50 fps... yes, cheating...

Personally, I have an overclocked i5. And according to the system requirements:
    Minimum:
    OS:Windows 7 32/64-bit / Vista 32/64 / XP
    Processor:Core 2 Duo 2.6 ghz
    Memory:2 GB RAM
Graphics:DirectX 9 compatible video card with 1GB, ATI X800, NVidia 8600 or better
    DirectX®:9.0
    Hard Drive:5 GB HD space

    Recommended:
    OS:Windows 7 32/64-bit / Vista 32/64 / XP
    Processor:Core 2 Duo 3.0 ghz
    Memory:4 GB RAM
Graphics:DirectX 9 compatible video card with 1GB, AMD 5770, NVidia GTX 450 or better
    DirectX®:9.0
    Hard Drive:5 GB HD space
    Other Requirements:Broadband Internet connection
Only Core 2 Duo 3.0 Ghz? My game can probably run at 800fps ;)!

    Oh wait.

Sorry.. I should have made myself clearer... I meant scardybob's comment about ns2 getting 144 fps on 0 detail ..i don't think anyone should be referencing high fps like this on zero detail as an example..

I have to have low res and zero detail to get 20fps

Probably no better than a regular computer, I hear those things only show to advantage when solving a specific set of mathematical problems.

QCs don't do ANY error checking. So you are limited to the speed of the probably 68 or 86 based chip next to the QC that is running all the error checking.

But quantum does sound cool if you say it fast or often enough.

When I bought the game, the recommended specs were in line with the recommended specs for the HL2 engine. I bought a new computer when I realized I wasn't going to be able to run NS2 (it was time to get an upgrade anyways, was still playing on a HL2 era pc), got a 3.2 i5, a 550ti, 8 gb ram, game still barely runs at 40fps in combat on the NSL maps. -_-
