I suppose genetic dead ends like to congregate in the same area like a 40 player server. Wish the game flagged you and gave you an icon if you play more than x amount of hours there, so we can shame and avoid these people.

Come on, surely you can do better than that!

I think people are afraid of history repeating itself ...

I remember when CO emerged, lots of people suddenly played NS and servers slots started to grow, but the main problem was that it attracted a huge number of players who only came for the shooter part and didn't care about the strategic side of the game.
Playing a proper classic NS map was a mess because of high number of slots and/or people that only came for the FPS side of the game.
Most good players I knew left NS and lots of clans disbanded, I also quit a few weeks after our clan disbanded and the ns-fr community was closed down.

PS : Anyone here remember Naxo from RaB clan? He was the one of the guys who maintained ns-fr.com and nsleague.com (a mainly french league) which was forked to ENSL later. If you have ever played against RaB chances are you lost since I have never seen them loose :D

3 servers last night - Mavicks, some FR rookie friendly and dumba55 brits. Joined server, noone wanted to comm on either team. I eventually jumped into comm (not on FR as I dont speak french) and commed, aliens didnt find a comm after a couple of mins so I left to find another server.

thats *3* servers in the space of a couple of hours. I waited a good couple of mins before quitting to find another. Sometimes people dont want the strategic part and wont sit in the chair etc. Personally I hate the comm part as you can never please the armchair complainers (who wont sit in the chair).

My argument is variety is good. Being railroaded into a 6v6 is bad IMHO as it doesnt suit casual gaming. Modding is good, slagging people off because they themselves dont like the mods is bad.
