Quick Question About Versions

<div class="IPBDescription">quick question</div> Hey guys, im sure this has been answered and im just looking in the wrong place, but i had a question.

I will be having a few friends over in a few days and im thinking about having a little NS party useing those bots Cheeseh was so kind to give us and i just had a quick question.

I need to host a game, and i want to use the v1.02 patch, but it says its client side only, does this mean that it <i>cannot</i> be used a client version or that you dont need it to play? In other words, can i host a listenserver game useing v1.02 and still use it to play online at a later date or will i have to install a second version?

Yes, go ahead and install 1.02. Installing it will make any server run by you be version 1.02, but the files it changes are NOT used when you connect to a different server as a client. So, basically, just go right ahead, no worries <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

The patch is intended for server operators, therefore, if you want to run a listenserver in V1.02, you need the patch. However, if you just want to play, you don't need the patch.

Ok, thanks a lot, I wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up my NS; I don’t know what I would do without it!
