Profile command showing high GC ..

Hi...

I experience extreme and sudden fps loss ingame.. now I play with a low spec but know what to expect and have accepted I'll only be playing on low res with minimal gfx optitons on
..however...

Over the last month .. I cant get through a game without a sudden drop .. it happens instantly .. getting 30 - 40 fps one secobd ..then the next split second I'm getting 3- 5 fps

If I stayed ingame playing on 5fps I cant do anything ..but out of pure pigheadedness..one day I stayed playing and miraculously my fps went back to normal after about 10min of heartache. ..then approx 8min later went back to 3- 5 fps.

Now..ppl might saw its the number of entities on the server...the stage of the game etc.. butI passworded an online server and sat in it on alien team idling just waiting ... and sure enough ..after a little time my fps dropped..

Looking at the profile command .. my GC percentage is always high when rhis is happening

I assume this is Garbage Collection ... does this high % point to any possible causes I might be getting the fps crippling attacks?

I really hope someone can help

The garbage collector runs when your system isn't busy doing anything.
If you can reliably reproduce this, and it sounds like you can.. Type : p_logall in the console.

Once you have captured both typical fps and the 5 fps, quit ns2 and navigate to your hidden %appdata%/natural selection 2 / folder and find your *. Plog file.
Compress it and upload to somewhere on the Internet.

Do your best to keep it short , the longer you record this log, the larger the file.

This will show exactly what's going on
Also include your techsupport.exe zip file

bugger.. had loads of logs recorded .. good fps, when it changed, when it changed back etc with chats to mark the times .. but I can't see any references to the chats in the plogs .. so have to remake them and tag each file ugh

first log file is short .. 2nd two are longer .. but the area of interest is at the end of the logs .. I stopped the logs after a few seconds

so
1st log .. fps is fine
2nd log, at the end of the log it goes to pot .. after a v short period I stop the log (if more info is needed, its in the 3rd log)
3rd log, at the end of the log, fps goes back to ok (30-40) and again, after a v short period I stop the log

Update for others : were working on this through private messages, testing lots.
Will update once we find the culprit
