Would an NS themed like Enemy Territory work?

Not talking about changing NS2 here. More of the concept if NS was meshed with ET. Part of what I liked about W:ET was the leveling per class that you got from doing things in game and you got a sense of progression. Of course the level resets with every new game but still it made me feel a bit invested towards every game. In addition I feel that if the aliens were all placed on the same tier as in starting weak getting stronger along with the rts aspect would make a fun game as players choose the class they enjoy. Like a skulk starting out on the same level as a lerk or fade but potentially getting much stronger as the game goes on. Perhaps a heavy skulk with elemental attributes (Corrosive, fire, etc) to slow down the marines or a Gorge that acts similar to a Kham by gaining access to alien structures the more upgrades it unlocks by either building structures, healing, or babbling an alien. Different trees for each alien could make for unique game play. Marines could also be specialized for healing, stealth, explosives, heavy weapons, etc and could have weapons suited to their task as well as the ability to unlock upgrades through xp and trees similar to aliens. Of course the com/Kham can control structures and general upgrades as well as gain the ability to fuel the growth of their players by awarding them more unlocks.
