Red Plug during spectating

I'm not sure when this started, but it was probably a build or two ago, but now every time I go into spectating (either after death or in spectator "team") I get the red plug. This causes everything to freeze except for the player I'm spectating (only the player moves around and I don't see any other people. Not sure if it's just a corrupted file or something, because I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else...

    Have you tried to verify the Game Cache Files in steam and deleted the Workshop folder at %Appdata%/Natural Selection 2/

    It may be a networking code issue sending too much data due to first person spectate. Is your internet slow? What's your throughput, check it with speedtest.net

    type net_log 3 in the console just before joining spectator (mark it in the log by typing "now" in chat)
    after you experience the issue for a few seconds exit ns2 and immediate go to your appdata folder and attach that log here.

    I am not sure if it is the same thing, but when I spectate like you described I also get a red plug, and the camera seems to disconnect from the player and spin while moving in a line away from the player. Nothing in console.

    This is not an isolated issue as I have a friend who experiences the same problem, only first person spectating though, red plugs the whole time.
