I am not looking for instant gratification, I am looking for a semblence of PROFESSIONALISM and proper IMPLEMENTATION from a business to its users. Is that so hard to understand?
Brreeeeaaatthheee.. *pats calmy*
Its almost been 2 hours.. while i'm sure you're refreshing the page, ready to intravenously pump some NS2 info.. it was more important to get the patch out right away for certain reasons.
I promise Hugh is working on it now and it will be coming soon - hopefully this doesn't stop you from getting in the game and enjoying it until then? Because that would just be horribly disruptive to your fix day, i'm sure.
edit: lol.. changelog posted 5 minutes before this post.
You are missing the point, Ironhorse. Instead of continuing with your backhanded insults, here what I would have expected in a post from a NS2 Lead Playtester:
Hi everyone,
Ironhorse here. Thanks for noticing the B251 has gone live. For certain specific reasons, it was important to get this patch out as soon as possible and it ended up going live on Steam before we could give you guys any information. Our normal PR/community manager Hugh has been backpacking in Australia for 2 weeks so he was unable to do a video this time. The actual changelog is quite lengthy and we wanted to make sure we didn't miss anything. This will be posted very soon in a front page news post.
After the B250 patch, we publicly stated our implementation of those changes could have been much improved. I apologize that so far B251 has not been any better. Having our valued users suddenly be unable to connect to servers and be generally confused after a patch update is not a customer experience we strive for. I appreciate your patience while we continue to improve.
Meanwhile, some of the servers have already been updated and there are some great new features, including improvement to placing cysts that I think you guys will enjoy. As always, please let us know of any bugs you find and we will do our best to squash them!
@Qwurty2.0 I must be explaining this very bad then... I started playing and learned the game in 250, and a common trick I did was to place a long line of cysts, then have a drifter at the far end to grow the last cyst rapidly to reduce the time it would take before I could build at the desired destination. This is what can no longer be done, which slows the aliens down. Which I'm fine with I just don't like how potentially fatal it would be for aliens if marines ignored everything and bum-rushed cysts and nothing but cysts.

So you're saying that Drifters not building cysts anymore is the problem, not that cysts build one at a time? Right? Cause that confused me as the one-at-a-time change was present in B250. :?
By having a drifter at the far end of a cyst line, I could construct that cyst "sooner" and thus construct things quicker or "save" buildings that relied on that last cysts creep quicker.

I am not UWE's PR @palagi and that was not my attempt at public relations either .. sorry to disappoint. That was my attempt at humor, friend.. notice the dramatic smileys and elaborate hyperboles? Sorry i offended you.
I just test bugs and help out tech support forums. If you want a press statement you can always email Hugh, though?
Also, If you find my responses unreasonable, just imagine how i find your expectations. @-)
But all is well now, so, onto playing!
Arms lab says it allows for catalyst packs, got all excited but they're not in the game.
According to the tooltips the armory allows you to research the shotgun twice and the robo can research MAC EMP .. Yikes, looking for changes showcases all the errors in the tool tips for the commanders. Then there's the tool tips disguised as functions in the icon bars. This needs a clean up desperately.
Easily the most frustrating thing for me. I'm 200+ hours into it but I don't know everything (i don't spend time researching tutorials). Then the comm/khomm tool tips lie to me. Its awesome an awesome way to learn... They need to clean it up ASAP.
Amen. I'm quite glad that UWE is more a family than a business. :x
More like la familia if you know what I mean:

Your profile picture was unacceptable and I have removed it. If you attempt to upload it again and I see it, I will ban you. If I see you refer to another forum members post as 'idiotic' ever again I will ban you.
For what its worth, your front page post was well written Hugh. Also, for those interested, my profile pic (which has been the same on here for years) is the one in my steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/palagi1
I promise to not use the 'I' word again, nor upload the picture. Sorry
@phoenixon if i'm understanding you correctly, its been like this since 250 and we haven't seen an issue with it other than slightly damaged Harvesters when reacting slowly?
i've seen nothing but harvesters dying even when responding quickly. The creep doesn't grow fast enough to save the harvester.

The Australian community is embarrassed of this fool. Behind the passive aggressive essays he even threatens to ban for an action so mundane its laughable. PR indeed.
We are not PR people. We are Lead Playtesters who spend hundreds of hours a month every month, for free, making sure NS2 does not break with every release. We are not professions and have never stated that we are. We and our Playtest team however do a GREAT job of making sure each release has little to no 'show-stopper' bugs. Believe me when I say that there are many bugs which happen during our testing cycle which break the game, which you never get to see because of the work we do.
If you think we would rather we spend our tiny amount of free time that we have between this and our day jobs on writing carefully crafted PR 'professional' responses to forum posts, then I'm afraid you will always be disappointed.
Wait... why was Palagi's pic removed? He's had that for like... forever.
And saying that if someone calls anothers post idiotic = autoban is horrible forum moderation. Let the forum mods handle that Hugh. They do an excellent job editing posts most of the time.

See, now was that so hard?

I'd rather anyone connected to the game were down in the gutter with the rest of us wallowing in our filth and flames. At least that way it's honest.
