[Linux] Crash after precaching, mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory

First of all, thank you UW for supporting gaming under Linux!

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and NS2 works pretty well under nvidia-current (304), but I wanted the performance that I had under Windows 7. So I tried out nvidia-319 and nvidia-325 from the ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa repository. However under both of those drivers I run into segfaults right after precaching and the lobby. I can move about and the graphics smooth out, but then it just exits to the desktop without a word.

Hopefully the info below can help you. I can go back to 304 for now, but I'd really like to take advantage of those drivers. Would upgrading to 12.10 or 13.04 solve my issues?
