well the aliens have different lifeforms and it dont look very repetative but before there was only 1 male marine and every one on the same team played as exact clones of eachother.
Now that we have the female marine we can see some variety so it would be cool if the already existing 2 models could have 2 different skins each (or more) the more the merrier
Multi-ethnic marines are a good thing for the game to finally become politically correct (and what can be more important than that).
However, I would go even farther and implement slight variations in facial features and postures to reflect the opinions, views and philosophical background of each marine. Granted, the game does not offer much dialogue and interaction besides the few simple taunts, but facial features, gestures and poses could go such a long way.
We could have ham-fisted, portly neo-Marxists with somber, no-nonsense look, contrasted by the conflicted and tormented looks of those influenced by Christian mysticism, dismissive smirks in faces of adherents to Nietszche's methods, willing to bring both metaphorical and actual hammer to every dispute, dreamy followers of Arthur Schopenhauer, self-contained solipsists, eclectic Hegelians eager to study the alien antithesis to human evolution, greedy-looking Smithonians with fast, restless fingers and beady eyes moving from object to object, assessing their market value, and in the corner of the base the elusive acolytes of Martin Heidegger, misunderstood by all including themselves.
Subtle touches like these could give the intense firefights and hectic melees of Natural Selection 2 greater depth and authentic atmosphere, admittedly at the cost of some performance due to the extra textures and animations - a small sacrifice for the benefit, no doubt.

As long as the game runs at a constant 20 fps on my top of the line pc then i'll be happy...

More diversity amongst our Marine squad is definitely something we are interested in. However even relatively small additions like this can be costly in both time and money, to do it properly and make sure everything is up to the right standard. It's something that we'll keep open as an option, which will probably depend on how well the Reinforcement Program does.
