Now that we need 3 upgrades of one type for full effect, eg 3 shells.
How about letting us select different upgrades?

I mean like, two points in carapace and one in regeneration. Two points in adrenaline, one point in celerity. One point in phantom, one point in aura etc Instead of being Cara only or regen only. (Yes, I know we can reevolve with different upgrades now which is fantastic but I'd like the ability to chose how much I get).

It'd give the aliens a little more choice in their build. I know I'd love 2 points in celerity, 1 point in adrenaline on my skulks and lerk.

The upgrade cost would be 1/3rd of it is now, and if you click on an ability three times (for full effect) then it's the normal price.
If you only put in one point in carapace you would only have the same effect as if your team only had one shell for example, even if you have three shells.
I know I'm not explaining myself clearly, but I'd really love this feature to be in the game.

It could certainly be interesting to try out.

I can't help but wonder if it would lead to even less varied builds though. Instead of being distinctly different builds, it leads to everything being exactly the same except with a few percentage points difference in some abilities. Instead of choosing between overall speed, and how many leaps a skulk can do in combat, every skulk becomes a little faster, with maybe one more leap's worth of energy. Instead of a tougher fade or a healing fade, they all become a little tougher and heal a little faster. Instead of a silent lerk or a lerk who knows what Marine's are easy to pick off, you get a lerk who's a little quieter and can kind of see through walls close up.

Sure, you could still go with level 3 of a perk instead of splitting it with it's counterpart, but I have a feeling that many are going to split things up and turn it into a bland mash. I'm probably wrong and would love for someone to convince me such a system could work though!

Both regen + cara and phantom + aura have a great potential to be pretty op.

    Interesting idea, though.
