I miss the first one and sometimes I want to play it again. It shouldn't be much work for them to find a way to rerelease it, to go along free with ns2. I miss the machine gun and all of those awesome maps and how the comm had to distribute weapons and how the aliens had no comm.

    lol, I'm not even program savy and I can tell you you can't just take the game and swap it over to something more pretty in two seconds

    As of right now they're focusing on bugs/maybe some performance for ns2; among with the next 'surprise' update and a form of gather system

    Then afaik the other time is spent on a new independent project, which will blow all of our socks off, besides @jekt because he doesn't wear socks

    Back on topic, NS1 I really haven't gotten to see the light of as someone who joined in when Gorgeous came out, I would love to see continued development of the original mod, made into a full game, but like said. UWE isn't too interested in players nostalgia currently, they're currently tied into either continuing full time on NS2, or taking a more marketable approach of making a new title with their home made engine. I doubt NS1 will be their next ground breaking title, since an HD remake would be anything but ground breaking.

    Better solution, look for NS1 mods/maps for NS2, it's what the modding community is here for, to expand the game beyond what the developers have time/resource to do, correct? The game is practically open source, maybe start a topic compiling a list of mods and start a nice community project to make some better designed NS classic servers, that would be cool.
