EVERY time I start NS2.
EVERY time when I disconnect from a server.
EVERY time I close the Options menu.

Been going on for days now, doesn't matter if I actually do the optimization or not.
It's getting tiring.

    So, the mod you are running is starting up version 232 of the game which appears to mean you have to recompile your shaders since they don't appear to be compatible between version 232 and 258. What mod is this so i can confirm that it does the same thing for me?

    The only mod I have active is "GLISS CROSSHAIRS".

    No.. you use 2:
    Mounting mod from C:/Users/xnm/AppData/Roaming/Natural Selection 2/Workshop/m5f4f178_1381805958/
    Mounting mod from C:/Users/xnm/AppData/Roaming/Natural Selection 2/Workshop/m69b35d6_1354392675/

    of those 2, the problem mod is:
    M4::ZipFileSource::Attach: OK attached to D:\steam\SteamApps\common\Natural Selection 2/builds/build_232.zip
    Mounting mod from C:/Users/xnm/AppData/Roaming/Natural Selection 2/Workshop/m69b35d6_1354392675/

    * Go to your " C:/Users/xnm/AppData/Roaming/Natural Selection 2/Workshop/m69b35d6_1354392675/" folder.
    * In it is a ".modinfo" file.
    * Open it with notepad to see the name of the mod. THAT mod is the one to blaim.
    * Start blaiming

    The one causing problems is GLISS'S CROSSHAIRS.

    The other one is Dak's.

    Odd though. I have a xhair mod.
    <insert shameless self-advertisement here>

    And I can not remotely imagine why it would ever call upon a earlier build. I mean, its just 2 dds files. It shouldn't be any problem unless they changed the format and/or filenames needed in-between builds.

    I think a mod can define on which version of ns2 he wants to run. if for whatever reason the crosshair mod defined an old version, then that one will be loaded if the mod gets loaded

    .modinfo file
    name = "GLISS CROSSHAIRS"
    kind = "Cosmetic"
    build = 232

    Changed to:
    name = "GLISS CROSSHAIRS"
    kind = "Cosmetic"
    build = 258

    And it's no longer giving me that error.

    gg ns2

    Yeah it got changed, which is frustrating, work out how to make the mod tools bend to my bidding then they all get changed.
