Editor crashes every time in the prop browser

There's a prop in my browser that crashes the editor every time it tries to load the thumbnail.

If I type "marine" into the filter box (nothing else, just "marine" w/o quotes), the VERY LAST prop will crash the editor when I scroll down, presumably because it's trying to load the thumbnail. It would crash instantly when all other thumbnails are loaded, so I deleted the cache folder, and now, with certainty, it doesn't crash until it tries to load that model. I can see it successfully loading each one until it reaches the last one.

While it was loading, I caught the name of it. "models\temp\hud\marine_hud.model"

Is everybody having this problem, or is this just me? I managed to fix the crash in the prop browser by just copying one of the other thumbnail pictures in the directory, and renaming it accordingly... but then just for S&G I wondered what would happen if I were to place this model in the editor? Well it didn't crash, but it sure froze up pretty good, and SOMETHING in my computer started making a pretty high pitched whining noise... so uh yea I'm done with that.

    Already known, already reported.
    Another thing to add to the list of things that will probably never get fixed.
    When generating prop thumbnails for the first time it will crash every single time it passes through a model that is still referencing .swf files. I did a search and these are the ones that came up:

    models\temp\hud\marine_hud.material
    emissiveMap = "ui/marine_hud_3d.swf"
    hud\marine_hud.material
    emissiveMap = "ui/marine_hud_3d.swf"
    models\effects\marine_health.material
    emissiveMap = "ui/marine_health.swf"
