Look at the screen shot on <a href='http://planethalflife.com/potd/index.asp?id=400367' target='_blank'>http://planethalflife.com/potd/index.asp?id=400367</a> ... I wonder if new strategies could be used with this. Hmmm!

lol I saw that too, but I think the fade just blinked up there while the lerk was flying around....although I don't see any blue stuff...hmmmmm <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

you can do that you just get on top of a lerk and have him rapidly hit space while you do too. he can't move forward or backwards though just up and down so it's pretty useless.

lol that was me and my brother and my friend took that screen shot. All you have to do is jump on a lerks back then tell him to jump and fly straight up.

Not quite. Anything heavier than a Gorge, the Lerk can't lift.

EDIT: I dunno how they did that, but I've tried it a ton of times, never works! <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

I've done that with a fade.

We were camping the vents at the marine spawn in caged, and he fell down so I had him jump up onto me and we both kept jumping and he got back up and we continued killing marines <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

near same thing for us when we were in eclips and a buddy turned to a pudgie at the bottom of a vent and as a lerk we flew up with the other jumping.

That would be sweet if you could hit "use" on a lerk and just fly around on him until u press "use" again or he dies.

LMFAO! Me and a lerk pulled that in the vent going to the Marine base on Nothing.

It was so freakin funny. They were like "wtf!11!" and I was like "ahahah noob" and they were like "m3h sp133n!11!" and I was like "ahahah" and .. you get the point.

I died shortly thereafter being stuck in the vent, but it WAS hillarious.

I've lifted onos onto rafters before... Not like they could do much up there but it made for some funny screenies...

I think you are lieing. Which rafters? You managed to lift an onos? Onos cant jump high enough. Lerk would run out of gas first. Which rafters? We demand screenshots. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Lerk elevator... Interesting. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It can have its uses, like boosting in Counter-Strike.
I always hated having to evolve into a skulk, then having to crawl up a wall, then evolve back into a gorge in order to build something. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

An onos can jump as high as any other creature.

Make sure you have adren 3x. I'm pretty certain the map was caged (the one with the sewer hive and the ventilation hive in it). There is this one bit where two pipes run along the roof, but there is a lot of room above the pipes.

    I'll get those screenies ASAP.

You suppose that would work for a jetpack using marine also?
  • PeddaPedda Join Date: 2002-02-05 Member: 164Members
Should be even easier with a jetpack marine as you dont have to time the wing flaps right (so that you don't run out of energy but still move your mate upwards).

Personaly, I think skulk elevators are better than lurk ones. You can lift anything, as long as there's a wall nearby. Get them to stand on top of you, then jump. Then you move up, and they land on you. Repeat. Its a great tactic to use on caged, just have a skulk lift 2 fades up into the vent in the marine spawn, then evolve into a lurk and give em umbra.

    Ha. Great point.

Another good point. That means a commader can get five marines into a vent with one jetpack and a little time. Heh. That means you can get a heavy into a vent.
