Hello everybody, its my first post as i just bought the game 2 days ago, sadly i have been nearly unable to play. Even after decreasing everything in the graphics option my max fps is about 33 and that is in the menu when nothing is happening. It means that instead of playing i am watching a slide show T.T . I don't know if it is just becouse i have bad computer or did i do something wrong i have no idea. Maybe you could tell me if it is just my pc or something else is going on as i have no idea about those sorts of things:
Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz 2.49GH.z
ASRock G31M-GS
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
4GB Ram

As a quick guess I'm going to say that your hardware just isn't able to perform, the cpu is 5 years old with a low clock rate. The gpu is also 5 years old. I doubt you'd be able to run many modern games to be honest, this game takes more CPU power than most too.

Basically, your computer is old and slow by today's standards. Half a decade old is a long time for PC parts ;)
Here's a good reference to understand where your computer currently sits performance wise compared to modern hardware:

    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+9800+GT&id=60
    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core2+Quad+Q8300+@+2.50GHz&id=9

Should be noted that your GPU is just barely above the minimum required, and that this game is very CPU intensive, so not only does that CPU age effect your performance, but the low clockrate of 2.5 does as well. (i run a 4 year old i7 @ 4ghz watercooled, btw)

The good news is that computer hardware is really cheap these days. I built my wife a brand new medium-high rig that runs everything (including NS2) easily for under 300$ (barebones and sales)
