Streaming NS2 with Xsplit only works with OpenGL mode when using game source

So, I feel like this used to work, but Xsplit has had some updates and I know how finicky NS2 can be, so here goes.
Whenever I try to add NS2 to Xsplit as a game source, if I try when it's in DX9 or DX11 mode, it won't work, it's just a black screen. However, if I do it in OpenGL, it works, but I lose 10 frames in the options menu compared to DX9. I don't know if that frame loss translates to in game, I haven't tried.
Basically, my question is, is there any way to make NS2 work as an add game source for Xsplit while in DX9 mode? Everything is run as administrator. I just tried Garry's Mod and Borderlands 2 as DX9, 32-bit as game source and they both work, hell, adding Photoshop as a game source works, so I'm assuming this is an NS2 issue.
Note that I can still stream fine if it's I'm streaming via screen region, but it's the principle of the thing, I would like this to work in game source mode.
Any info?

using screen region make sure the game is in windows mode it should work then.
I've tried using all modes and none of them worked.
Considering it, have heard good things.
