Collision geo doesn't stop bullets?

Because I can only export visual models (ie no collision), I've been using editor geo to fudge the collision mesh for my models... but I've just discovered that it seems collision geo does NOT stop bullets.

Is there any way to do this? Yea I could have the geometry be outside of the CollisionGeometry group... but then it covers up my model.

All of the various physics parts of NS2 are handled via Physic Groups. An environment's CollisionGeometry is not part of the group that bullet traces use. It is only used for movement related calculations. The damage based physic traces/tests are performed via hitboxes only as far as I know.

Thanks for the replies guys. Oh well... it's not a huge deal in this case... or maybe it is... heck I don't know... we'll see.

Yeah that is strange. I experimented with an outdoor map and you could shoot over walls (collisiongeometry started right over the walls), but grenades bounce back and hit you....wasn't feasible in the end ;)

    Actually, YES, it is possible
You need to make it not collision geo but set the texture to something clear, like editor_background

    :-O mind...blown

Pardon the ugly map, it's my quick load test map so I don't have to wait forever for a full sized map to load, and it was for watermod
