Game Crashes During Optimization

Upon starting the game, I am presented with the a box that says I need to run a one time optimization or skip until I try to play. A minute or so after the game starts to optimize, it crashes. The game crashes every single time I try to optimize and I have yet to even play once since buying the game. I cannot seem to find a solution to this problem. I have tried the options listed in the how to make a good tech post thread. You should open the console while optimization is running (press ^ or ~ to open it), so you see where exactly your system fails.
Also try to skip it and configurate the options then try to join a server. In this case the optimization is done with first join and we avoid any config problems.

I performed the steps found in that post before I started this thread. I tried skipping it as you said and joining a server, but a server list never loads. Also, during the optimization I cannot press any keys that have an effect on the game. None of the options work and pressing ~ or ^ yields no results. Once the optimization begins, the only thing I can do is wait for it to crash back to my desktop.

I check your log and can't see any source for this issue, you may have to do a full nuke of ns2: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/131428/

I did the full nuke and it worked. The problem, whatever it was, is no longer occurring. Thank you.
