NS2 consistently crashes and causes PC to be unresponsive. The crashes appear to happen at random but I've never made it all the way through the tutorial without this happening.

Screen typically goes completely white or blue accompanied with a stuttered loop of whatever sound was playing at the time. I always have to do a forced shutdown afterwards. I've tried fiddling with graphics options and some recommended fixes, I've also followed the nuke instructions, still the same result.

Here's my hardware :

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k @ 3.4 ghz (not overclocked)
MB: Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H
RAM: 8GB @ 1600mhz
GPU: nVidia GTX 770 [ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5]

Typically issues like this are caused by heat issues in your rig. Ns2 has the double whammy of being very cpu intensive as well as hitting your gpu at the same time.

I would check all your fans and heat sinks for dust build up and monitor your system temperature. Start up the tutorial in windowed mode and check your temps. I suspect that things are heating up quickly.

The temps had been stable, but when I went to check so I could give you an actual number, I found the game wasn't crashing anymore. Went through the tutorial and played a few matches with no problem. So uh.. problem solved I guess? No driver updates happened, no change that I'm aware of at all. Oh well, at least it's working.
