Unable To Access Menus

My problem first occurred when I first started up the game after purchasing it in the Humble Jumbo Bundle on 12/14/13. Whenever I start up the game I am presented with an option to optimize the game. Whenever I try clicking the "optimize" button, the button is unresponsive and does nothing. However, the "skip" button is responsive and leads to the main menu. All buttons on the main menu are responsive, but lead to screens that are nothing but the background (with no options, server lists, etc) and the name of the menu in the top right of the screen. Upon entering any of the menus, any attempt to exit the menu is unsuccessful, so I am forced to Alt + Tab and close the game from the desktop.
