How to accuratly measure ns2 load times?

I have a little hypothesis I want to test. All I need is a way to accurately measure ns2 load times.

    Depends what the hypothesis is. I can probably give a good guess for your hypothesis :P
    Stopwatch.

    Stopwatch would work but I was hoping for more accuracy. I thought I remembered @ironhorse having some little command or something.

    If you are curious samusdroid, there is a disparity between my and my friends rig in load times. I am almost always first to join a server and he is almost always last. He has a far faster ssd than I, and a comparable rig except for memory. He has 1333mhz cas9 while I have 1866mhz cas9. So I was going to take 3 servers and a range of memory speeds and see if their was a difference. I was even planning on making a nice little thread with graphs and all that.

    Well, I can make a mod to do this but it will have to be used on a listen server.

    I could make myself a listen server. It would cut a lot of variables, but I worry it would not be enough of a real world test.

    Why does it have to be a listen server? I know a few server operators who I could persuade to run the mod for a short time.

    Because the mod would be disabled by the server. It's literally exactly the same, as long as both of you run on a listen server, and default consistency (which you should both have unless you modified it for your own server) then it will still be controlled. In fact, it would be more controlled than joining an already up server.

    If is not too much trouble samus, I would use that mod. I just wish I had faster ram to test with. Still though, 1333, 1600, 1866 all cas9 should give a good indication of how ram effects load time.

    To make, or to load... ha ha ha.

    I'll drop your name when I have results. THanks

    @SamusDroid

    I subscribed to the mod. I enabled the mod from the main menu in ns2. I restarted ns2. I loaded a listen server, which seemed to take longer than it takes me to join any server. I didn't see anything so I checked the log and found this.
    [/Error: Mod Load time measurement failed consistency checking and will be disabled ('lua/Loading.lua' failed)quote]

    There is no correlation between ramspeeds and ns2 load times. I still don't understand why my friend has an average of 182 second load time compared to my average 34 second load time. His ssd is faster. Except for his memory, his rig is comparable to mine.

    Probably background programs or something.
