i just took advantage of the sale on steam a few days ago after watching some youtube videos about the game it looks awesome btw so i got it downloaded it and i cant load anything i get into the menu no problems it all loads fast as i would expect but when i try and load into a game or something similar it progresses fast i see the green alien stuff spread 3 times then it stops and contentiously loads i even tried leaving it for 20-30 minutes then 1-2 hours its just keeps loading and loading none stop no error messages no crashing just nothing but that spinning blue circle and the background of a space station i have tried validating the cache through steam it says its fine i tried deleting the cache folder in %appdata% this is my log on it

Somehow you are not connecting to 127.0.0.1 . Try the following Play -> Start Game -> Create.
You can add bots now via console commands: http://wiki.unknownworlds.com/ns2/Console_Commands
Also it's not so important to train with bots imho, all vets didn't do so (bots and tut were added later).
Best watch the tut vids from itssupereffective then play abit like 10 hours. After that you should be prepared enought to go commander with help from a vet teammate at a rookie friendly server.
