After using 120hz monitors it is excruciating to go back to 60hz.
I am sure many 120hz users here have dealt with naysayers before who claim there is no difference, only to have them recant once they've tried their new 120hz monitor.

I used to overclock my 21" crt to 120hz, it was amazing. Also overclock the res to 1600x1200. Wow, great days. It broke my heart when I switch to flatscreens and found out how bad they were...
You do realize lcd's can be overclocked too right? Although, I was only able to oc my laptops screen to 75 hz stably. Also, it doesnt damage the screen. You can use evga pixel oc or create custom resolution in nvidia control panel.

I have used 120hz and I do like how it's more fluid (since I love eye candy). However, I'm just saying that 60hz can be just as good as 120hz in terms of response time and gameplay.
Also, 120hz can also look erratic due to gpu frame latencies (which gets worse at 120hz). 120hz + Nvidia G-sync = perfectly smooth.
Thats called frame latency nexus. When frame rate fluctuates is when your gameplay (and eye candy) is affected.
Also, by response time I meant for the monitor, not the player. Response time is not dependent on refresh rate. Some 60 hz monitors have response time of 1 ms while many 120hz monitors can have response time of 5 ms. 120hz monitors generally have low response times (1-7 ms) because if the response time was too high, the extra frames would not show.

I don't know where you are getting that information. I just looked up a bunch of TN 60Hz panels and the popular 144Hz panels from BenQ and ASUS. Both the 144Hz monitors have 1ms GTG response time, which is identical and sometimes better than the GTG response times on the 60Hz panels. What you might be getting mixed up with (or contorting to fit your argument) is the BTB response time which is much larger, but still shorter on 144Hz or 120Hz monitors compared to their 60Hz counterparts.
GTG is the most convenient response time (the lowest). I have seen 120hz with 3-5 ms response times (7 ms on really cheap ones). like I said, refresh rate does not affect response time. You can have 1ms on 60hz panels.
Generally, most (not all) decent 120hz monitors have response time of 3ms.

1. Pub skill diffrence. Atacking 3 marines low skill with success, resulting in underestimation of one skilled that usualy gets me killed in a stupid way.
2. If i can take out hive or gorge with last bullet i will always go for gorge! i hate that litle piggys.
Spliting in my face and bile always get my atenition that usualy get me killed.
Best bait that i can never refuse.

My weakness is my SSD, it's far slower than my Intellipower WD HDD.
Intellipower WD HDD. Official hard drive of natural selection 2.
Improvements over ssd's:
1. Gain matrix like freezing mid jumps. (Sweet!)
2. Handicap yourself with a 50fps drop each shotgun shot (for pros only)
3. Ascend to hulk mode and r-quit ns2 for months.
I meant to post this in the other thread but whatever.
The lack of motion blur is what people mostly buy these monitors for, whether they know it or not. It's also mostly how a monitor affects the quality of the game experience, which is what coolitic says is fine with 60hz monitors. I can't believe anyone who has actually tried a >=120hz monitor would say anything like that, but I guess some people are simply beyond help.
Thx for sugar-coating that, I prefer it that way =D
I will let you see my lerking when I find a suitable replacement for my now-dead gtx 560m.
Another weakness I have would be my impulse to chase every single lifeform above a skulk when I have a jetpack (yes, that includes onos). I usually come to my senses mid-way into the chase, but sometimes it's just too late.

Never mind I redirected the discussion.
Sweet debating skillz
Then gets into a debate about a subject he doesn't know.....
Throws incorrect information out.....
Then calls for the thread to be locked because it's gone off-topic...
For most things in life there's Mastercard...
For epic fail there's @coolitic

Ah but motion blur length is different to response time and refresh rate. The 3 are not correlated between each other.
We are talking about response time aka what appears to be 'input delay'.
So I don't really see how that graph is relevant.

Same thing as aliens, but instead the marines get you with secret mass-arc.
What exactly are you implying here?
PS I really want to see your lerking

Allways have to play with above 200+ ping , lag and have to run NS2 at 800x600 low all )
