[linux] Mouse clicks randomly not registering or sticking

When I play ns2 the mouse on the menus have no problem the issue is when I am in game and half the clicks dont register and always have like a 20 percent chance of getting stuck when they do register making me just spam click the mouse until it gets unstuck. This is really annoying as marines as I see a skulk running at me I aim pull the trigger nothing happens or it gets stuck and I waste my clip. either way I am dead.
system specs:
OS: Zorin 64bit
CPU: phemon ii x 6 1090t
GPU: gtx 560ti
RAM: 16gb
This may be a problem specific to zorin os cause when I was running gentoo a little over a month ago on the same computer everything worked fine.
And no it is not my mouse as this diddent happen when I played portal 2 for 6 hours.
