Bug / Suggestion: Ping of servers

I didn't know where to put this because it's a suggestion but it is also technically a "bug".

I live in south america (in the very bottom), and the ping to global servers really sucks, partially because we dont have local servers here. So when i'm looking for games in the server browser the ping is minimum 160 (average 230). So when choosing servers i first order them by ping, and then join the best ones.

The thing is, for some reason (maybe my ISP sucks), the pings are not stable. I mean, a tipical server has a ping value equivalent to a random between 160-280. So i have huge problems determining the best servers: i have to click them several times so i can calculate the average value in my head. I have had this annoying problem since day one.

I suppose it makes a calculation, but with very few samples.

So i ask: can someone make the game calculate an average with more samples than it currently does, or make an average over a couple of seconds?

(Another suggestion, not on the subject: it would be awesome to set the color of the the console lines, so the lines of chat are blue or of some color)

    Not a bad suggestion. @SamusDroid‌

Agree, the ping fluctuation is crud.

I don't remember which game it was, but I once saw a server browser that showed "Ping flux" next to the standard ping value. No idea how exactly it was calculated, but I was some kind of variance metric.

That would be the best solution, I think... show the average ping as the main value, and the standard deviation next to it: "45ms (±12)". The smoothness of the ping is just as important as the average value IMO.

The server browser needs a complete overhaul anyway. At the moment its still fairly messy.
Just a few things I can think of, off the top of my head:

    -The already mentioned ping issue.
    -Breaks when refreshed too quickly.
-Server details display every player as "Unknown".
-For reasons unknown, need to click "attempt to join" twice when trying to join a server I have a slot on.

-Doesn't scale properly for lower resolutions* (didn't check in a while, but I cant recall seeing a fix for it)
-Pretty sure reserved slots don't display properly anymore* (may be an issue with server mods though, hard to say).

It'll probably get fixed, or already did, by someone in the modding community. Just a mater of waiting for an official implementation.
