Scoreboard = crash

Heya everyone!

As I previously said I don't remember where exactly... For some people new builds = new bugs. (look this one I got too: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/134785/anyone-getting-a-bug-where-when-ns2-starts-and-you-go-to-server-browser-you-can-t-click-on-anything#latest)
Happily, 265 is certainly the best to solve some interesting & boring bugs.

But now, we are lucky to have new awesome bug, which one? Scoreboard. Yeah, now, when I open that scoreboard, my game is crashing. Why? I would like to know. Yeah, of course, I verified the integrity of the Steam cache. + " unsubscribing from Workshop mods" + uninstall game + everything I can do. As you can guess, that's why I'm here, nothing worked.

I would like to play NS2, especially to do my Referee NSL job, I need to open this scoreboard, but I can't on my laptop (this isn't a config issue btw).
And no, avoiding scoreboard isn't an answer. I'm angry, this is hard to write something correct here and sorry for that. But all these bugs are boring, very boring, it's easy to guess the next one, press C and open your map = crash.

Oh, and, no need to write "you're only can wait Build 266" or something. I play NS2 since a lot of time now, I would like to have a game without any bug which ones make my game unplayable. That doesn't mean no bugs, I can understand that, but I can't for this, that's unbelievable. 35€ for a buggy game isn't fair, in my opinion.

So yeah, this topic hasn't for objective to be mean, I'm just angry because of this new huge bug. Thanks.

Do you have any logs from a crash? Does this happen on all servers? Did you allready do a fullnuke?

Edit: @Blainn Same questions for you without any info we can't help you guys

I have no log, that's could be useless I already look over.

Someone else and me tried something. It seems, we have these troubles when we're on a modded server, to be more exact, NS2+ servers, I cannot confirm at the moment, I have to try myself but if there's no mods installed on the server, we have no bug, that can be a fast answer but not really a solution, I'll let you know.

What do you mean with your last question?

Could you try to validate that it is ns2+ ( set up a server with only it enabled ) . If so since when exactly do you have this issue ? My last question was if you tried out obraxis full nuke as that rules out all issues of corrupted local files and caches etc. .

Cann't confirm. NS2+ seems not to be the evil mod. Some servers running NS2+ work fine.
    Post outdated - look below.

Upload your techsupport.exe zip file after you crash and let US decide whether it's "useless" or not.. We need data to help you

I don't know if that NS2+ or another mod for me. Anyway, if Blainn gets the same issue but with another mod, that means all the mods on NS2 cause the bug generally.

When I said "it could be useless", that's maybe because I already showed this log to qualified people. For the techsupport.exe zip, here we go. As you insist for the log, take a look on as well. I'm not surprised to see you there Ghoul by the way.

Okay. I tested some other servers. First it seemed like NS2+ did run on a server without the crash on tab, but it got disabled while loading (cause of consistency check). Even though the serverbrowser insisted it would be running on the server. Joining any other server with an active NS2+ and pressing tab resulted in a crash. Both Pelargir and I have this problem only on our laptops.

Just a quick note, i noticed "Error: PhysX: Invalid Cuda context!" even though you are using an Nvidia mobile GPU.. which isn't supposed to happen.
Looking at your direcx diagnostics, it is not reporting a GPU driver installed:
    "Name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
    Device ID: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0FD1&SUBSYS_10C71462&REV_A1\4&150CB750&0&0008
    Driver: n/a"
So what driver are you using?

The two things that stand out to me are:
Error: lua/shine/extensions/killstreak/client.lua:61: attempt to index field 'Config' (a nil value)
[Client] Script Error #1: lua/shine/extensions/killstreak/client.lua:61: attempt to index field 'Config' (a nil value)

Which is obviously a shine error,
    And

    "Queuing download of 'Badges+'"

Which has created issues for others lately with the scoreboard.

    In conclusion:
We cannot continue to diagnose this issue without you reproducing this issue on a non modded server, with all of your own mods also turned off. We have to rule out mods.
Please provide another log /tech support zip once you have done this, IF you are still having issues.

I did start a local server running only NS2+. Crash on scoreboard... If I disable NS2+ it doesn't crash => Seems to be related to the mod. Unfortunately most of the servers are running NS2+

I'm trying something else with Mendasp, I'll try that you want asap. I'm just checking something else before.

EDIT: Mendasp option doesn't work too. What do you want? We have no trouble with a non modded server, I cannot upload anything if I have no issue.

    Ok about those two issues.

The first just means that shine was unable to load the local client config file which is pretty weird as ns2 schould have always access to the %Appdata%/Natural Selection 2/ folder. but that issue isn't critical just means that the client will be unable to play any Killstreak sounds.

The second one: @IronHorse‌ Badges+ =/= Player Badge Mod . Badges+ is fully based on hook functions so it doesn't override any vanilla files or method directly and can't cause any critical / direct issues as its using the entry system.

And I confirm that, Shine doesn't cause any crash for us, that's only NS2+.

Yep, we're trying (Mendasp & me) to see what we can do to solve that. But this issue appeared with the release of NS2+ (Build 263?) for the server browser and the one (scoreboard) since Build 265. I know Mendasp updated his mod recently, that can cause new bug I guess (I hope).

Sure, but even if server browser bug isn't very important to play the game. You cannot avoid to open your scoreboard ingame, that's clearly impossible and cannot play on this computer anymore. I know Mendasp is still working to see what's wrong, but I don't hope anything now. Maybe for next patch or something, if UWE will work on that, no sure.

The server browser thing happens to me since 265. First time on patch day. I had to factory reset the router that day, so I thought this may be the cause. But on the other computer it works just fine. (Now I have another router and the crash on server browser opening remained)

    Good and bad news!

The good news is I have located the call that makes him crash, the bad news is I don't think I can fix it.

Every time his client runs Client.RefreshServer it crashes, so it's not exactly a mod problem, but an engine problem.

Mendasp meant there are 2 bugs, Scoreboard (caused by NS2+) & Server Browser. NS2+ has no effect on the Server Browser itself as you can guess. But, that doesn't mean this is two different bugs. So, he's working to fix NS2+ by adding a command or something to disable or avoid to crash because of this file. That is a solution for the scoreboard for sure, but we're still waiting for UWE to fix the problem in general. That's all.

It's all the same the bug, but I did provide a console command so NS2+ never calls that function.
