[Solved/Fixed] Blank Screen and Crash to Windows via Steam.

This came from a new install of NS2, no mods have ever been installed, essentially I'm a new user who just bought the game.
System
Windows 7 x64
AMD Phenom II 965 BE 3.4Ghz
12Gb ram
AMD Radeon HD7800
Problem-
Once game was installed, clicking Play would result in a blank screen and a crash to windows, game would run minimized with no sound.
Solution-
Edit
%appdata%/Natural Selection 2/system_options.xml
change <device>D3D9</device> to <device>D3D11</device>
Run Game
Game will run, but still not fixed, clicking with the mouse anywhere will result in game dropping to windows & minimized, only going back to the game would result in a slight sound.
Edit
%appdata%/Natural Selection 2/system_options.xml
Change <device>D3D11</device> back to <device>D3D9</device>
Change your resolution to what your desktop resolution is.
<x-resolution>1920</x-resolution>
<y-resolution>1080</y-resolution>
Run Game
The game should now run normally
