OMG IRON!
Because fullscreen windowed is AWESOME. And you of course build your system to account for the fps loss!
you can quickly alt tab to check stuff like TS, browsers, uwe forums, anything!
I still have the problem that not having focus on the NS2 process makes me not hear any ns2 sound, but it does not automaticly fully minimize. DX version related?

You can already alt tab to check stuff like TS, browsers, UWE forums with fullscreen?.... The only caveat is doing so while loading a map may or may not have issues. (mostly doesn't for me)
I used to use when testing, but really it's not worth the performance loss or mouse input delay, regardless of how amazing your computer is - IMO.
Yep, multiple monitors and a pc that can run the game fps wise fine (i still get those hitches that are more related to constant video memory swapping by the game though). In combination with the game's very long load time, this window mode is a must, as im not just gonna stare at the loading screen like a retard for 4 minutes when i could be doing something on another screen. Sometimes i forget i was loading a server in NS2 because it takes so long, then when i notice i've already been afk kicked from the server, grrr.
the fps loss isnt a big deal as it saves me time, but there shouldnt be any input lag? if there is, thats another bug to be fixed. And i dont notice any when using it... though i havent been playing all that much recently.

You know how many games crash or go weird with alttab in fullscreen? Loads. And in fullscreen windowed? FEW!
Input delay is nonexistant. Yes it may influence but other factors play a much larger factor in input lag, starting with the keyboard and mouse itself.

I'm not saying not to fix it, to be clear.. I am simply stating the downsides to using it for the uninformed.
@DC_Darkling
Input delay absolutely occurs for windows vista or windows 7 users that are using aero in any window form besides fullscreen. The game will be subject to the same vsync process that all your windows are subject to, which causes some lag. Vsync, by nature, causes lag. Typically, measuring with a 60 fps camera will show aero adding 3 frames of lag. @ 60 fps (doubtful you can hold this FPS in windowed NS2 all round) that's 50 ms of delay, or another way to think of it is 1/4 the typical reaction time.
So I suppose as long as you disable aero (you still cannot disable compositing in windows 8!) while going windowed you won't run into input delay issues.. even if you are going to have FPS issues no matter what.

hmm.. odd, I have aero on and never experience any probs on 60fps.
I will test this sometime for the heck of it, if I think of a good way to measure it.

60+ fps high quality camera should do it. Hardware devices with keys or buttons that light up are a bonus if you can find the time it takes for the light to turn on from the key press.

It's still reported.
But I'll add it to the engine fix wishlist since we have an awesome team on hand who can work on this stuff
No promises, however.
Out of curiosity why would you ever use this over fullscreen? There's a considerable performance hit with anything not fullscreen..

Also Ironhorse, some people care more about graphics than FPS. (I'd say like me, but my rig is OTT :P )
