No textures, only particle effects show

Hi everyone,
I recently picked up NS2 from the Steam Sale, but I'm unable to play it. When I run the game, no textures show, and even the menu fills up with a massive amount of white bloom.

The above image is what my menu screen looks like after a resolution change, when I can see some effects.

These two are screenshots from in-game.
The first is in the tutorial. The second was after I headed towards the blue icon (a room?). There was a massive amount of bloom and it completely blanked out the screen.
This game looks really great, but I can't play it! Does anyone know what is causing this?
