Crash due to 267, causes unknown

Hi guys,

my game is crashing everytime since the update. sound freezes and then asks me to send a debug report after I have to close it down via task manager, but the report function doesn't work either. Sometimes I can play half an hour, sometimes it kicks me after 1-5 minutes. Are there any same issues and are there fixes? By the way, I don't know why or when it is crashing, not like the most people by using tunnels, mapchange or dying. My game crashed whilst I was commanding or during a fight, too. I hope that this will be fixed soon, its my favourite game and unplayable at the moment. Thanks

Mostly we need that techsupport.exe zip file uploaded here to take a look at your system and logs.

How can I create that support file? I will reinstall the game or clean the cache and delete all workshop items

I reinstalled the game and deleted all workshop items and the cache folder, it did not work, the game is still crashing. The last time while I was respawning as a marine. I could just play for around an hour. I don't know how to create that zip you want, just created one with a screenshot of the report window and created a file about my system and hardware. I hope it is useful for you.

inside your NS2 directory there is a techsupport.exe program. Run that and post up the file it creates as the one you posted is not helpful. Thanks.

Alright, I created one. This time it crashed while I was exiting a gorge tunnel.

I would guess you have the 267 tip video bug; sounds like it from where you are crashing.

Try turning off Show hints and Commander hints in the Options menu.

Turned off the hints, still the same. Screen goes black, I hit esc and I'm back on my desktop. Did all the delete stuff in the folders now, will report back in due course

Thanks @Heisenberg‌ engine devs are looking at it now.
Seems like its related to your client trying to process an invalid or empty packet, supposedly.

to anyone else crashing even with "Show hints" and "command help" turned off :
When NS2 crashes and the process is still open (even if the window is black) run techsupport.exe located in your ns2 folder.
This will create a smaller dump file in a techsupport.zip for the devs to look over.
Upload it to Dropbox or somewhere and link it here, it will be a large file.
    Thanks

Yes, turned off both hints. Tried with lower resolution and everything else but no way. Thank you IronHorse. I tried to run techsupport.exe while process was open, but then it did not finish the creation of the zip folder. I waited longer than 1 hour until i closed the game process via task manager, then the techsupport file was immediatly ready. Just in case I wanted to tell you if there is any information missing in the file.
